#71. go to a hockey game (update)

So... I did it! My first hockey game was a success... complete with some good fights, loud fans (especially the guy directly behind me who had one of those yells that makes your ears ring), sudden death 4 minute overtime, a shoot out and HOME TEAM WIN. Yes... the Thunderbirds won!!!

Before I show you a couple pictures and video from the game... let me share what I have learned about the sport of hockey.

(1) It is action packed (not really any dull moments).

(2) There are three 20 minute periods with 18 minute breaks in between.

(3) The refs will pretty much let the players fight (if they are really going at it) until they fall onto the ice (I believe this is so the refs don't get smacked).

(4) I learned a lot more... but really the most important thing is that I do like hockey. It is exciting and easy to get into/follow. And of course... the fact that all the players are pretty hard core helps.

So here you go... the proof...

The Thunderbirds attempting to score (the T-Birds are in blue).

The group :)

Each period began like this... now this is how you get/keep fans excited.
