One Hundred List

Everyone has things they want to do before they die. Some of the things most of us are afraid of doing, or they seem silly, but our question to you is, why not do them? What holds you back more than yourself? We have given ourselves the excuse and motivation of this blog to get us checking things off our respective lists.

The four of us each have a list of 100 things we want to do before we die, and we want you to be with us along the way as we seek adventure; learn languages; travel; teach; learn and live.

Our goal is to see how many of the 400 things we can accomplish in 2010. You may be asking yourself, a blog? How is this going to work? Good question. Let's start at the beginning, shall we:

Jennie, Claire and Jyl were taking a Sunday afternoon walk a few weeks ago in Discovery Park. For those of you who are familiar with this popular Seattle jaunt, you are aware that you begin in a wooded area, then about 3/4 of a mile into the hike, the woods open up and there is a clear panaramic of the Puget Sound with the Cascade Mountains hanging out in the background. It is at this point where we saw a group of six unicyclists pass by. Riding a unicycle is something that Jennie has always wanted to do. The three of us started to talk about things we've always wanted to do and we decided that we would start lists of things we wanted to do, then get together the next week, share our lists and start a blog, writing about the interesting things we wanted to do.
The rules of the game:
1. The thing has to be witnessed by another participant in the group
2. The thing has to be documentable
3. The thing has to be something that you have never done before
As we were wrapping up our conversation, a bald eagle flew past us--not more than 10 feet from where we were standing. That was it, it was the last push we needed. From that moment, there was no turning back.
We went home and talked about our plan with Mykell, the fourth participant. The four of us decided to actually go through with our plan. (because the eagle said so)

We think you're going to really enjoy what we have planned for this next year. If you would like to come out and support us or want to be a participant as one of us crosses something off our list, let us know; we love your support as a reader, but we would also love for you to be there in the flesh. (you will find all 4 lists to the right)

We promise to do at least 4 things a month (1 thing per person), but you know, there might very well be more some months depending on how daring we get. We also promise you that over the course of this year we will do at least 4 things that are huge accomplishments for us. (i.e. Jyl is going skydiving.)Bet you can't wait, huh?!

So here we go, hang on with us, it's going to be an adventure.
