unicycling.

well...i got pretty close to checking something off my list the other day, and thought i would share. saturday we went to watch jyl skydive (see earlier post), and while we were waiting, we were watching the tv that was there showing all the features of the skydiving place. well, in the video there was one person that was on a unicycle at the skydive place. weird you think, as did we, but carlie wasted no time in going to ask someone where they kept the unicycles. i guess they were part of the toys they have to keep people entertained while waiting their turn to go up in the air.

so...seeing that it was on my list, i had to give it a go. i stood on a bench, and sat on the unicycle while mykell and carlie held my hands. it was a lot trickier than i had envisioned it being, and it was hard to stay balanced without the bike rocking forward and back. luckily i had spotters or i probably would have fallen flat on my face.

we rode around for awhile, and i eventually got down to just carlie's hand, but never made it on my own. i figure i'll have to put in a bit more time until i can cross this one off the list. i think i can do it though...just have to keep your head up. it's easier to balance that way i figured out. if anyone happens to own a unicycle, let me know...

oh, and i also was reminded on saturday that doors will open for you when you least expect it. who would have thought there would be a unicycle at the skydiving place? not me, that's for sure. if jyl wouldn't have gone skydiving, i may not have gotten to ride a unicycle. just something to think about. the more we open ourselves up to life, and exploration, the more it opens itself up to us. cheesy i know...but i'm starting to realize that it's true. so go. get out there and do something...you never know what little surprises you'll find along the way.

i'll post video soon, but until then, here's a picture since i'm sure you all want to see how ridiculous i looked...

Such a great outlook, Jennie. That looks really tough, too... good luck with the practice. You can do it!
